Proflex settings

3 way adjustable shock absorbers

How to adjust a Proflex damper ?

The screws position are materialized by a click felt in the screwdrive or wrench.

The compression adjustment is located on the cylinder and is componed of 2 independent settings each comprising between 20 and 26 positions.

The low speed compression must be set with a screwdrive. This setting corresponds to the slow movement of the wheel and the shock (low frequency, ie braking, bearing weight, motor).

The screw allows you to slow the sinking of the shock : the more you squeeze, the draft will be more difficult. We recommend running 2 to 3 notches for better times to feel its effects.

The high speed compression must be set with a key 10.

This setting is the he rapid movement of the wheel and shock ( high frequency: very bumpy road, corrugated iron, jump landing).

This one is making slower the wheel movement.

You can tighten this setting until you feel the road strain or roughness in the vehicle while it is sufficient to release 2 to 3 notches to eliminate this phenomenon.

Caution: When you set the high speed, it is imperative not to accept the low speed adjustment with a screwdriver.

The rebound setting is located on the shock body in the case of a damper on traditional hinges or on the top of the damper for McPherson. It also includes between 20 and 27 positions.

This setting can slow down more or less an extension of armortisseur. It will increase the tire grip to the ground, avoiding the rebound due to the spring .

Note :

It is imperative that you never drive with the settings closed on the maximum level (1 click is enough).

For your information, 1 screw turn = 6 click.
